Faith Formation Registration Grades 2 through 8 OPEN NOW

Faith formation classes for students in grades 2-8 are forming again and will start in the second half of September. Registration is now open with registration forms available in the narthex as well as online.

We are happy to announce that starting with the 2026-2027 school year we will be introducing a new curriculum for our faith formation program. We will be using a program called “Word of Life” that have been produced by the Augustine Institute. It systematically teaches our Catholic Faith in an age-appropriate fashion. This will ensure that our children obtain a solid understanding and grow in their faith as they progress through the program.

Specifically, second and third graders will learn about God’s plan for us as evidenced in salvation history and his presence in the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Fourth and fifth graders are introduced to the basic teachings of the Catholic Faith using the Creed as an organizing principle. Middle schoolers in grades 6-8 will be studying Jesus Christ and Sacred Scripture—with a particular emphasis on the gospel of Matthew as well as relevant passages from the Old Testament.

Our faith formation classes meet on alternating Sundays after the 9AM Mass in the parish hall. We are very fortunate to have three excellent catechists in our parish who will be leading these classes—Ms. Julie Tonini, Ms. Breanna Silvia, and Ms. Val Segerson. In addition to regular faith formation classes, we are also offering sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation/First Eucharist as well as for Confirmation. Sacramental preparation classes are taught by our Director of Religious Education, Ms. Helga Treichel, and meet Sundays after the 9AM Mass (for 2nd/3rd graders preparing for First Reconciliation/First Eucharist) and Saturday afternoons from 2-4PM (for middle schoolers preparing for confirmation).
