Christmas Cookies, Carols, and Cocoa

We encourage our parishioners to Celebrate the true Christmas season each year in the 12 days between Christmas and the Epiphany. Our Carols, Cookies, and Cocoa event is a perfect way to join together and rejoice in the Birth of Jesus.

Join us the first Sunday following Christmas.  Sing along to your favorite seasonal carols while sipping on a cup of hot cocoa and eating tasty cookies.  Christmas cookie decorating is available for children of all ages and all supplies and food provided.

Setup and teardown of the event typically takes about an hour each.  We are always looking for volunteers to bake cookies and make cocoa.

Corpus Christi Celebration

Very early (in the fourteenth century) the custom developed of carrying the Blessed Sacrament in a splendid procession through the town after the Mass on Corpus Christi Day. This was encouraged by the popes, some of whom granted special indulgences to all participants. The Council of Trent (1545-1563) solemnly approved and recommended the procession on Corpus Christi as a public profession of the Catholic faith in the real presence of Christ in the Holy Sacrament.

This annual event is held the Sunday following the Feast of Corpus Christi.  The celebration includes Mass, a procession through the town of Woodland Park and concludes back at Our Lady of the Woods for a feast.

Volunteers are needed for set-up and teardown of the feast as well as help with food preparation.

Parish Picnic

The Parish Picnic is an event we hold to celebrate our community.

Join us for a perfect summer day in Teller County to dine on delicious food and enjoy the fellowship of our parish.  We begin our day with Mass, and then we move outside for the Picnic. This fun filled family event includes games and activities for children and adults alike! All parishioners, their families, and friends are welcome.

We always need a lot of help to put on an event of this size. If you can help with set-up, clean-up, manning games, etc. please volunteer.

9/11 Memorial Mass and Dinner

Our annual 9/11 Memorial Mass is held at Our Lady of the Woods Church in Woodland Park the Saturday nearest September 11th.

The Mass is offered for all first responders, firefighters, state and local police, paramedics, first responders, and federal law enforcement. Families are invited to attend the Mass. Attending firefighters, police officers, paramedics and first responders are asked to wear dress uniforms and are presented with a medallion at the Mass. A dinner to honor these first responders and their families is held immediately following Mass.

Volunteers are needed to provide side dishes, set-up, decorate and clean up.

Parish Events Committee

What Does the Committee Do?

Do you enjoy planning parties?  Do you love to decorate for events and parties?

This is the committee for you!

We are a standing group of volunteers that may be called upon to help plan, decorate, etc. for parish-wide social and community events.

Volunteering for this committee will put your name on a list and, as events are scheduled, you will be called upon to assist if you are willing and available.

The time commitment to volunteer is completely up to you and may be as small as an hour or as great as several hours depending on your schedule.
