Faith Formation & Discipleship

Family Faith Formation

Once a month, following Sunday Mass, families are invited to take part in lifelong faith formation. Parents gather in the Church and the children gather upstairs in the Parish Hall and are led by catechists.

Children’s Formation (K-5th Grade): Children gather to learn about their relationship with Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Faith. They meet in the Parish Center, the first Sunday of the month, from 10:00 to 11:30. Staffed by dedicated volunteer Catechists, children learn and experience the faith shared, while integrating prayer, scripture and the Catechism. Sessions begin in September and continue through April.

Youth Group

The youth of OLW have said they would like:

  • To be involved in activities that help them to live their Catholic faith, not just talk about it.
  • They would also like to do a few fun things as well.
  • No commitments required.
  • Allow friends of any faith to come along as well.

Given this, our Youth Group meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month.

Our group is for all in 6th through 12th grade. All members, plus any friends are welcome to come together for prayer, discussion and comradery.

Bonus… volunteer activities we do can be useful for building resumes and college applications….

Magnificat, a Ministry to Catholic women is a private association of the faithful within the Catholic Church under the jurisdiction of the local ordinary. Its purpose is to help Catholic women to open more and more to the Holy Spirit through a deeper commitment of their lives to Jesus as Lord and to impart the Holy Spirit to one another by their love, service and sharing the good news of salvation. It thus provides opportunities which will foster a desire to grow in holiness.

Magnificat ministers to those women in and out of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal whose faith in the person of Jesus Christ has allowed them to believe in the activity of God’s spirit in their lives. It also has great appeal to those women who may be struggling with faith or who have lost touch with the Church. It can be a valuable evangelistic tool.

Our Lady of the Woods offers a Magnificat faith-sharing experience through a shared meal, fellowship, praise, personal testimony and intercessory prayer.
