Sunday Faith Formation
Following Sunday Mass, families are invited to take part in lifelong faith formation. Families gather in the upper room of our parish center for family prayer, after which children break out to classrooms and adults remain for catechesis and discipleship.
Children’s Formation (1st-12th grade): Children gather to learn about their relationship with Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Faith. They meet in the Parish Center, each Sunday, from 10:30am until 11:45am. Staffed by dedicated volunteer Catechists, children learn and experience the faith shared, while integrating prayer, scripture and the Catechism. Sessions begin in August and continue through May.
Adult Formation: This is for all adults, to meet and learn more about our Catholic Faith and Traditions. They meet upstairs in the Parish Center, from 10:30am until 11:45am. This opportunity begins with communal prayer of all ages, followed by dismissal of children to their age appropriate sessions. Adults will remain—using adult learning methods—and explore topics of Faith, such as God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as defined by Scripture, Catechism, and Documents of Vatican II. See the bulletin for “special topic” driven mini-retreats and days of reflection.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
Adults and older youth lead children to a separate area during Mass where the Liturgy of the Word is shared with the children from the Children’s Lectionary. Meets weekly during 9am Sunday Mass.
Children will come to know:
- The Bible as God’s Word to us
- How God wants us to live according to that day’s gospel
- How they can learn to know and relate to God
Adult leaders must participate in the Safe Environment Program.
If interested, contact Joanne Pearring at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The youth of OLW have said they would like:
- To be involved in activities that help them to live their Catholic faith, not just talk about it.
- They would also like to do a few fun things as well.
- No commitments required.
- Allow friends of any faith to come along as well.
Given this, a Youth Group has been formed that will allow the youth to do a monthly activity as well as separate get-togethers for youth and their families to socialize. This is all open for grades 7 and up.
On the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month, all members of the youth group, plus any friends they would like to invite, are all joining for a time of playing, prayer, and discussion.
Bonus… these volunteer items are needed to help build resumes and college applications….

Magnificat, a Ministry to Catholic women is a private association of the faithful within the Catholic Church under the jurisdiction of the local ordinary. Its purpose is to help Catholic women to open more and more to the Holy Spirit through a deeper commitment of their lives to Jesus as Lord and to impart the Holy Spirit to one another by their love, service and sharing the good news of salvation. It thus provides opportunities which will foster a desire to grow in holiness.
Magnificat ministers to those women in and out of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal whose faith in the person of Jesus Christ has allowed them to believe in the activity of God’s spirit in their lives. It also has great appeal to those women who may be struggling with faith or who have lost touch with the Church. It can be a valuable evangelistic tool.
Our Lady of the Woods offers a Magnificat faith-sharing experience through a shared meal, fellowship, praise, personal testimony and intercessory prayer.
